Hold the front page - this week, we decided to trial two different nappy rash creams; Sudocrem and Bepanthen.

I'll spare you the details, but our findings below were as follows:

Sudocrem, best price £1.31 per 100g (Tesco)
Bepanthen, best price £6.03 (yikes) per 100g (again, Tesco).

The Sudocrem is the better product for our little lad's little bottom. It clears nappy rash faster than Bepanthen, and is handy for the myriad cuts and scrapes accumulated during the day.

Bepanthen however, has come up trumps with a rather unusual use - it makes for excellent nose and upper lip balm for runny noses. All is not lost.

Glad that you've found something that works! We had a similar problem a while back and I too tried various creams, the one thing that was guaranteed to work on our little lad's bottom was lansinoh, but a £10 a tube we used it very sparingly!

It's a great product for numerous things, but too expensive for us to use every day long term, we use it as our emergency solution, but thankfully we've only had to use it on a few occasions!

I've never been a believer in putting creams on bottoms as a routine, because I think it traps moistness in the nappy and makes rashes worse. But hey-ho. That being said, on the rare occasion Little Moo didn't have enough nappy-free time and got a little red, Sudocrem was by far *THE* miracle cream!! One application, and voila.

I too am a believer of not putting cream on unless there's a problem with our lad's bottom, which does happen so very rarely thankfully, but I know that some people like to use creams as a preventative measure.

Hi!

Our bottoms are lotion free in this house too, unless of course the evil nappy rash strikes.

Then it seems, Sudocrem is the daddy!

Thank you so much for your comments, lovely ladies!

Hope you're having a lotion free week.
