This is a guest post from my lovely big sister, who lives on the racy continent.

Big sis - thank you so much for the most adventurous money saving tip that I have ever heard!

'The other week I ran out of cleanser.  Hot rats, as this is not the sort of place where you can go out to a late night shop and buy some more (ha! the very notion).

Well, I held the front page and the nation held its breath and then I had a thought.  Could breastmilk be used as a cleanser?  Thinking along the cleansing milk lines - there must be something in it. And there is!  It works like a charm.

I expressed some directly onto a cotton wool pad (yuck yuck yuck - wet cotton wool, but I manfully pressed on) and swept across face and voila, it removed all sorts! My skin felt nice and soft and CLEAN and it made me feel rather deliciously smug as was completely free and on tap!

I couldn't recommend it for stubborn mascara as I wasn't wearing any at the time,  but worth a try, no?'

Cleopatra, coming at ya!

Have you a rather unusual money saving tip, or indeed use for breastmilk? Post below!

Well, who'd have thought that ... another new use for breast milk!!

We should start a post "How many uses can you think of for breast milk?"

I would join in but my breast feeding days are well over!

I like the sound of that!

I wonder if big sis knows of more pearls of milky wisdom...

Well, funnily enough I do have another!

Breastmilk is very good for clearing up conjunctivitis. Squirting it directly into the (open if possible) eye clears it up very effectively. If the baby isn't able or willing to open the eye, just squish it onto the closed eyelid.

Do this as frequently as possible and it should clear up nicely.

Wowzers - that sounds rather effective.

Is it something to do with the mamma's antibodies?

Think so! Though am not a medical bod.

Antibodies - they're so clever, and yet such tricky customers. I remember catching every single conceivable bug doing the rounds when the little fellow was small. And then even some other ones that most probably hadn't been thought of. Must have been all in the name of antibodybuilding, or some such.
