Not only is Mr mammasaver easy on the eye an tremendous fun, he is also a dab hand at the old drawing.
He has kindly drawn this very pretty picture of a butterfly, caterpillar and eggs that you can print off by clicking here.
With regards to colouring in, an increasing number of local councils are advising their education departments against it as it may 'stifle creativity.'
Personally, I reckon there is a time for full-on Picasso style creativity (or Jackson Pollock style paint splashing for that matter) and another for colouring in.
The sheer challenge of colouring in between the lines was/is a joy to me. I'm pretty sure it helped me with pen control, too.
What if your child isn't such a visually creative person? Doesn't it stunt their creativity by not giving them a framework to help them along a bit?
As with all things in life, I'm sure there's a good explanation as to why colouring in is now out of fashion. It just evades me at the moment.
